Claire Teal – Full Spectrum Counselling

A safe space for every spectrum of your whole self

Kia ora!

I’m Claire (she/her) – a Pākehā, queer, neurodivergent counsellor living and working in Wellington. I offer in-person counselling from Wellington’s CBD and online across Aotearoa. I am a registered counsellor, experienced in working with young people, adults and couples/people in relationships. My style is person-centred and pluralistic, which means I tailor my approach to suit the unique needs of each individual client. I am Rainbow-affirming, trans-affirming, neuro-affirming and polyamory-respecting.

As well as being a counsellor, I’m also a wife, a mum, a step-mum and a dog mum in a busy, Rainbow, neurodivergent, blended family household. I am known for my love of good coffee and wild beaches (ideally, both at once!).

Who I can help:

Full Spectrum Counselling reflects my commitment to providing a safe therapeutic space that is empathetic, intersectional and understanding.

I am particularly passionate about and skilled at working with:

  • People from Rainbow Communities
  • Caregivers of young people exploring their sexuality and/or gender
  • People questioning their sexuality and/or gender later in life
  • Adults who have discovered their neurodivergence later in life
  • People navigating fertility issues
  • People blending families / step-parenting
  • Whānau raising neurodivergent children
  • Raising children in a Rainbow family.

I can support you during times of change, personal discovery and difficulty in your life. We’ll work together to help you see yourself and your situation in new ways and find paths forward that work for you. I am known for bringing warmth, empathy and genuine curiosity to my counselling and creating safe, respectful therapeutic spaces that center your story and individuality.
